Trailer: Project Midnight-Run

Zurich Airport, 11 pm. The final take-off of the day. Project Midnight-Run can begin. Switzerland’s largest airport’s longest runway, at 3,700 meters, is completely reconstructed every 30 years. At the same time the lighting systems are renewed. This is a complex process that calls for top precision. After all, landings and takeoffs are the most demanding moments of a flight. A reliable lighting system is therefore absolutely essential.

The special feature of ERNI’s runway lighting is longevity. It is not new lighting that is being installed, but lights that have survived 30 years under extreme conditions. After revision and meticulous checks, they will be returned to their positions.

Here at the hub of Swiss economic life, 700 planes carrying more than 52,000 passengers take of and land every day. The trend is on the increase.
